Jetman Crosses English Channel Successfully - Awesome
Yves Rossy successfully traversed the English Channel today by wearing a wing powered by jets. He traveled 22 miles in about 13 minutes and became the first person to cross the English Channel by using a wearable jet-wing. He landed near the White Cliffs of Dover in the U.K. by cutting power to the jets and deploying a parachute. Check out the video of him doing just that.
According to a commentator on Slashdot he was using 4 JetCat P-180 turbines which produce 45 lbs of thrust a piece. Some people call him crazy, I call him crazy awesome. Congratulations Yves, and best of luck on any future flights!
